This is the first time that expressed recombinant human Fc-IL-18BPc has been examined for its biological activity on IL-18-induced IFN gamma in human PBMC and IL-6 in A549/IL-18R beta.”
“beta 2-glycoprotein I (2GPI)-dependent anticardiolipin autoantibodies (aCl) are associated with thrombosis and fetal loss. Some microbial pathogens can induce pathogenic antibodies find more cross-reactive with 2GPI. Sera from a significant percentage of periodontitis patients contain aCl, and some periodontal pathogens contain antigens with peptide sequences having homology to 2GPI. We hypothesized that antibodies raised against P. gingivalis (aPg) contain pathogenic aCl that
induce fetal resorption. We immunized mice with 2GPI, P. gingivalis W83, or an arg-gingipain-defective mutant of P. gingivalis (HF18). IgG fractions of aPg were learn more immunoabsorbed to remove aCl-like antibodies (abs-aPg). IgG fractions
were administered intravenously into tail veins of mated BALB/c females at day 0 of pregnancy. At day 15, the proportions of fetal resorptions were evaluated. The prevalence of fetal loss was significantly greater in the aPg group than in the control IgG group (21.2% vs. 5.3%, p = .001), and greater in the aPg group than in the abs-aPg group (21.2% vs. 12%, p < .05). There were no fetal resorptions observed in the aPgHF18 group (p = .0005 compared with aPg, p = .17 compared with control). aPg antibody contains activity consistent with pathogenic aCl, and the antigen inducing the antibodies that cause increased fetal loss may be on the arg-gingipain protease of P. gingivalis.”
“Based on the bioactive screening results, three new pregnane glycosides named as cynanauriculoside C-E (1-3), were isolated from the roots of Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight (Asclepiadaceae),
together with two known ones, otophylloside L (4) and cynauricuoside C (5). On the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and chemical method, the structures of new compounds were characterized to be qingyangshengenin 3-O-beta-D-oleandropyranosyl-(1 -> see more 4)-beta-D-cymaropyranoside (1), qingyangshengenin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -> 4) -alpha-L-cymaropyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-oleandropyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-cymaropyranoside (2) and caudatin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 -> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-cymaropyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-oleandropyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D- digitoxopyranoside (3). In the despair mice models, these pregnane glycosides showed significant antidepressant activity at the dosage of 50 mg/kg (i. g.). The most potent one was cyanauriculatoisde D (2), which was close to the positive control fluoxetine (20 mg/kg). (C) 2011 Phytochemical Society of Europe. Published by Elsevier B.V.
